When setting up a new scenario follow these steps:
1 - Look in the scenario book to see how set up the map tiles.
The map tile names are listed for reference to easily find the ones needed.
2 - Select the scenario level.
Recommended level is average character level / 2 (rounded up).
3 - Prepare all the monster types you will be fighting.
The types of monsters needed are listed near the bottom of the scenario. Look at the map to see where to place these monsters.
Note: Only monsters in the starting room are placed at the beginning of a scenario. The rest are placed when the room is revealed.
Reference "Monster Key" for more information on what type of monster to place.
Monster standees each have a number to determine the order in which they act during the turn. The standee numbers should be randomized when placed.
4 - Place the Monster Stat Card into the sleeves with the monster's level face up. Each monsters current level is equal to the scenario level.
5 - Find the matching Monster Ability card decks for the monsters and shuffle them.
Sometimes multiple monster types use the same, more generic ability deck. For instance, Bandit Guards, City Guards, and Inox Guards all use the same “Guard” deck.
