Scourge: A type of support card that has a lasting negative effect. See the Scourge section for more details.
Search: Look through a stack of cards, usually for something specific. See the Searching and Examining section for more details.
Skill: A character feature that tells you which dice to roll for a check. See the Skills section for more details.
Source: A thing that makes you suffer damage or a scourge. See the Suffering Damage section for more details.
Spell: A type of boon card. See the Spell section for more details.
Story Bane: A type of bane card. See the Story Bane section for more details.
Story Bane Roster: A card with lists of story banes, used when summoning a random story bane. See the Story Bane Roster section for more details.
Storybook: A book that tells you how to set up and play each scenario, adventure, and Adventure Path. See the Card Sets section for more details.
Suffer: Be dealt damage or a scourge. See the Suffering Damage section or the Scourge section for more details.
Summon: Bring a new card into play, usually temporarily. See the Summoned Cards and New Cards sections for more details.
Support Card: A card that supplements various features of the game, such as a cohort or scourge. See the Support Cards section for more details.
Trait: A keyword that describes a card or check. Many effects depend on traits. See the Traits section for more details.
Trigger: A trait on a card that causes an effect when it is examined. See the Searching and Examining section for more details.
Upgrade: Change the vault between adventures as described on the storybook’s Adventure Path page. See the Ending a Scenario, Adventure, or Adventure Path section for more details.
Vault: A subset of cards from the box used in a scenario. See the Build the Vault section for more details.
Villain: A type of story bane. Cornering a villain often results in winning a scenario. See the Story Banes section for more details.
Vulnerable: Positively affecting a character’s check to defeat. If a card is vulnerable to a trait on your check, add 4. See the Roll the Dice section for more details.
Weapon: A type of boon card. See the Weapon section for more details.

Wildcard: A card listing powers that increase the challenge of a scenario. See the Add Wildcards section for more details.
