The Overseer must choose which Battle Room and Special Room cards to use for the game.

For every game of Catacombs, there will be seven Room cards laid out on the table, face down, in the order they will be played. The eighth and final card is always the Catacomb Lord’s Lair.

Battle Room cards determine what monsters are placed on the playmat during a room. Battle Room cards vary in difficulty.

Special Room cards allow heroes to purchase items or heal.
