Position and Turn Order

menu

Position

Several game elements, including Turn Order, are based on a Racer's distance to the Finish Line, and often their position relative to other objects on the Track. A Racer is always ahead of or behind something; they are never equal. A Racer's position is based on the space they occupy.

If a Racer's space is further down the Track than another object's space, the Racer is ahead of that object and closer to the Finish Line. Note that distance to the Finish Line must always follow the forward path of the Track, not "as the crow flies."

If the edges of a space are even slightly further ahead than another, it is considered closer to the Finish Line.

Between spaces that are equally distant, the Lane further to the right (from the perspective of behind the Racers) is closer to the Finish Line.

For example, in this picture, in which the top is closer to the Finish Line, the Rabbit is ahead of the Rooster.

The Racer closest to the Finish Line is termed the Frontrunner, and the Racer furthest from the Finish Line is termed the Rearender.

Turn Order

Turn Order begins with the Racer furthest from the Finish Line (the Rearender). It proceeds to the next furthest Racer and so on until finally reaching the Racer closest to the Finish Line (the Frontrunner).

Turn Order is always determined by the current positions of the Racers, changing as their relative positions change.
