23 Place the Phase marker on the top left space of the Phase track.

24 Place the 3 Phase Skip tokens on their indicated spaces at the bottom of the Phase track.

25 Determine the turn order by randomly dealing out Turn Order tokens.

Token 3 is not used in 1-2-player games and token 4 is not used in 1-3-player games.

26 Place 1 Player marker of each selected player color on the Tactics track, stacking them on top of each other in turn order, so the player with the (1) token has their Player marker on the bottom, the player with the (2) token on top of it, and so on.

27 4-player game: The player with the (4) Turn Order token moves their Player marker 1 space to the right.

28 Create the Revenant Failure deck:

28a Shuffle the 4 Core Failure cards and draw 1 face-down. Return the rest to the box unseen.

28b Shuffle the 7 Hull Failure cards, draw 3 face-down and place them on top of the Core Failure card. Return the rest to the box unseen.

28c Place the resulting deck of 4 cards near the Sequence board. Reveal the top card and place it at the top space of the Revenant Failure Display, found at the right side of the Sequence board.

29 Place the 2 Revenant Protection tokens near to the Revenant Failure deck.
