You resolve skirmishes in the eight sectors as usual, applying the additional rules below to account for the Corrupted Crew and their special effect.
You are the resolving player in the sector with your Frigate and the two sectors adjacent to it (a total of three sectors). If you are higher on the Tactics track than the Corrupted Crew (or below their marker on the same step), then you are also the resolving player in the sectors one further from your Frigate (a total of five sectors).
At Voidfall difficulty level, if you’re lower on the Tactics track, you are the resolving player only in the sector with your Frigate. If you are higher on the Tactics track or below their marker on the same step, you are the resolving player in the sector with your Frigate and the two sectors adjacent to it.
Example: In a game with Trouble Difficulty , your Frigate is in Sector 7, and you are lower on the Tactics track than the Corrupted Crew. This means you are the resolving player in Sectors 6, 7, and 8, while the Corrupted Crew is the resolving player in all other sectors.
Shields placed by the Protective Rays cancel a single damage each on that would otherwise hit the ship they are on. They do not cancel damage that would hit any other ship than the one they are on.
Example: You are the resolving player in Sector 4 and you distribute 3 damage on the Fighter of House Belitan. The first damage is cancelled by the Shield placed by Protective Rays 1, the second is placed as a Damage marker 2, and the third destroys the Fighter 3. The Shield on the Dropship in the same sector is ignored 4.
In sectors where the Corrupted Crew is the resolving player, select the target for each single damage following these preferences, in this order:
1 Ships of the House(s) they have the least Influence with.
2 From the above, ships of the House(s) you have the most Influence with (not counting Hidden Influence).
3 From the above, ships of the leftmost House on the Influence board.
If a House they end up targeting has multiple ships in the sector, select the one that needs the least amount of damage to be destroyed (i.e. the one with the fewest empty damage spaces on it). You may select from equivalent targets yourself.
Example: The Corrupted Crew is resolving a skirmish in Sector 3, distributing 3 damage A. The first is cancelled by the Shield in the sector B, as usual. They are tied for least Influence with House Fenrax and Yarvek C, who both have ships in the sector. The Corrupted Crew targets House Fenrax, as you have more Influence with them than with Yarvek D. Out of the Fighter and Arkship of House Fenrax, the former is targeted E, since it has less empty damage spaces than the Arkship F.
Flip the Solo Phase Aid card to the Skirmish phase
side to see a short summary of the damage preferences of the Corrupted Crew.
Revenant Failure effects do not affect the Corrupted Crew. However, after resolving a Revenant Failure card, they gain 1 Tactics.
Spread Corruption: In sectors with a Rift, the Corrupted Crew selects ships to place Corruption on following the same priorities as described for distributing damage.
When removing Shields, also remove tokens placed by the Protective Rays effect.
