The Apprentice is on the Villager team.

During the night phase, the Apprentice will be instructed to open their eyes.

If the Mayor is the Seer, the Apprentice will see the Magic Word. However, now if the Magic Word is guessed, the Werewolves will win if they can find the Apprentice.

If the Mayor is the Fortune Teller, the Apprentice will see the first letter of each word in the Magic Word. However, now if the Magic Word is guessed, the Werewolves will win if they can find the Apprentice.

If the Mayor is neither the Seer nor Fortune Teller, the Apprentice will be told this.

STRATEGY:

When the Apprentice is in the game, the Villager team is guaranteed to have help from a player who knows the Magic Word. However, the Apprentice also makes voting a little bit easier for the Werewolf team, as they never need to consider the Mayor when looking for the Seer.
