When can Artifacts be used?
Artifacts may be used when an Action Location is selected, even if the artifact’s owner chooses to rest. Furthermore, each Artifact can only be used once per Action Location activation.

How many Action Locations are activated each round?

There are always 4 Action Locations activated each round. In a 4-player game, each player chooses 1 Action Location each. In a 3-player game, each player chooses 1 Action Location and the player with the Honor Ship pawn chooses an additional Action Location to activate. In a 2-player game, each player chooses 2 Action Locations each.

What cards do I start the game with?
2 Reaver cards
Each player takes 2 Reaver cards from the deck. Players roll the dice indicated on the top left of each of these Reaver cards and place them on their Player Board. Then each player decides whether to Rally, Specialize, or Promote them according to the Recruit Reavers rules in the Recruit Reavers section. (Read that section fully before beginning your first game.)
How many Food tokens do I start with?
The start player takes 4, the second player takes 5, the third takes 6, and the fourth takes 7.

Whoever most recently won glory in battle. Or, choose a random player.
