Which modules should I use in a game?

Each game typically includes a combination of 2 different modules. You can play any of the recommended scenarios, or you can combine modules in any way you choose.
Do I need to discard a special card, after taking its additional action?
No
Some faceup cards also provide actions. Do not discard them after resolving these actions (most of these cards are removed after an action is resolved).
Can I use a tool token placed on a card?
No
After placing the tool or resource on a card, you cannot use it or take it back for your group; you can use it only for the action shown on the card.
Do I need to discard a card, when I help the card?
No
After you help a card, do not place it in the discard pile. Instead, it remains in play, and you can help it again later.
Do I have to use a help action to complete my card with the help action as a requirement?
Yes
If a card with the help symbol in the action box 1 belongs to a player, that player must be involved in completing it, therefore that player must also use a help action.
While helping, can I discard cards instead of the player I'm helping?
No
You cannot discard cards to pay the discard cards cost during another player’s action.
While helping, can I receive a reward instead of another player?
Yes
While helping, you can divide the reward. You can help another player even if they do not need help, just to receive the reward. The players decide how to divide the reward.
While helping, can I suffer damage instead of another player?
Yes
While helping, you can suffer damage instead of the other group.
Can more than one player help another player?
Yes
Multiple players can help another player at one time.
Can I use a Talisman tool to ignore a danger card, after I roll dice?
Yes
Unlike other effects, you can use the Talisman after a die roll.
Do we have to resolve mission cards during each night phase?
Yes
Mission cards cannot be ignored, and remain in play even after the action is resolved, unless otherwise noted. This means you must resolve the mission cards during each night phase.
Which player must pay mission card costs during the night phase?
Any player
Because mission cards are resolved collectively, the players can decide which player will pay costs, such as tool tokens.
What happens, if I discard a card with a red back, when going to sleep early?
Nothing
When you choose to go to sleep early, you discard all of the cards in your deck facedown with no effect.
Can players go to sleep at different times?
Yes
Your group goes to sleep as soon as your deck is empty. You no longer do anything else during this day phase, meanwhile other players (who have not yet gone to sleep) continue the day phase, until their decks are empty.
In what order do we have to resolve cards?
Any
The players collectively decide the order in which they want to resolve cards.
Can I resolve several options on my card?
No
You must always resolve exactly 1 option shown on your card (or you may ignore the card and discard it faceup without effect, if it doesn't have any negative effects).
Do I have to choose a card to explore?
No
Instead of choosing a card, you may choose to discard all of the cards in your deck facedown with no effect. This is also referred to as “going to sleep early.” Going to sleep early can be a good idea if you have already made good progress during the day, but there are a lot of cards with red backs remaining in your deck.
Can I still choose to a card to explore, if I have less than 3 cards in my deck?
Yes
You can still choose 1 card even if there are fewer than 3 cards remaining in your deck.
How many phases are there in each round (day)?

Each round (day) begins with the day phase and ends with the night phase.
Which game modules should we use?

There are 10 modules in the game, with 2 modules used during each game. The rules supplement provides 7 premade scenarios to play. You can play through these scenarios in any order, or create your own by combining modules however you choose. If this is your first game, it's recommended to use the modules A and B.
Who must pay mission card costs?
Anyone
Because actions on mission cards are resolved as a tribe, you can collectively choose who will pay necessary costs, such as tool tokens.
Do humans die, if I cannot feed them?
No
Unfed humans do not die. However, you must place 1 skull token on the night board for each unfed human.
Can you heal multiple people?
Yes
You can divide the healing among multiple people in your group. You can also divide the healing among people in other groups, if you are helping them, or they are helping you.
Can we resolve the same secret card twice during the game?
No
If the secret card shown as a reward was previously revealed, and is no longer on the night board, you cannot resolve it again.
Can we gain new ideas, if we already have 6 ideas (the workbench is full)?
Yes
If you gain a new idea card and there is no more room on the workbench to place it, you must remove an idea card (other than the one you just drew) and place it in the graveyard.
Are resource components limited?
Yes
Resources are component-limited: if there are none left in the supply, you cannot take any more.
What happens, if I no longer meet the ability requirements after rolling dice?
Take another action
If the die results mean that you cannot resolve the action, you must instead resolve a negative action on the card, or ignore the card if there are no negative actions.
Can I ask for help, after I roll dice and can no longer meet the ability requirements?
No
If you want to ask for help in resolving an action, you must do so before rolling dice. Other groups cannot decide to help you after you roll the dice.
Can I choose, which cards to discard from my deck?
No
When you discard facedown cards as a cost on a card, you must discard the indicated amount of cards from the top of your deck.
How do I pay for ability requirements?
You don't
You do not need to pay anything when resolving abilities, you just need to have the required abilities in your group (including the helping players' groups).
Are all cards with a red back negative?
No
Most cards with red backs are danger cards. However, danger can also lurk on cards with other backs, and some cards with red backs may also have rewards.
Do I have to take an action on a danger card?
Yes
Danger cards always have at least one negative action, and cannot be ignored. You must always resolve an action on a danger card, even a negative one. If you are unable to fully resolve any of the negative actions, you must resolve 1 negative action as much as possible. You can always resolve damage and skulls.
What happens, when I discard a facedown red card?
Suffer 1 wound
If you discard cards with a red back to pay the cost of an action card, you suffer 1 wound for each red card you discard.
Do I have to take an action on an action card?
No
If you can’t or don’t want to resolve an action on a card, you can ignore it, discarding it faceup.
Can I discard cards from my deck for another player?
No
If another player must discard cards, you cannot discard cards from your deck instead, even while helping the player.
Can I get rewards from another player's card?
Only when helping
When you help another group, you and that group split the rewards from their action.
Can I suffer wounds instead of another player?
Only when helping
When you help another group, you can suffer wounds instead of that group. If a player suffer wounds and no one chose to help them, the must suffer wounds themselves.
Can I look through the discarded cards?
Only faceup ones
You cannot look through the cards in the left (facedown) discard pile of the wilderness board. However, you can look through the right (faceup) pile at any time.
Can I take several actions on an action card?
No
You must always choose exactly 1 of the following options: resolve 1 of the actions and gain the rewards, help another player, or ignore the card
What happens, if there aren't enough spaces to place wound tokens?
Ignore extra wounds
When your group suffers wounds, you must choose one person in your group to be wounded, placing 1 wound token for each wound suffered. If there aren't enough heart and skull spaces to place all of the wound tokens, ignore any remaining wounds that you would need to place. You may use this rule strategically to reduce the number of wounds you suffer.
Can I look through the cards in my deck?
Only at the backs
You can look at the backs of all cards in your deck at any time. However, you cannot change the order of the cards.
What is the player order, who goes first?
No player order
All players take their turns simultaneously, discussing together what to do.
Which modules should we use?

During most games, you will use only 2 of the 10 included modules (for your first game, use “A” and “B” modules). The modules are sorted into 7 levels of gradually increasing difficulty, but you can mix and match modules however you choose.
Do we receive tool tokens from people in our tribe at the start of the game?
Yes
During setup, each player takes the tool tokens shown on their people’s cards, placing them next to their group.
How many food resources do we start the game with?

During setup, place 5 food on the storage area in the base camp.
Are all card with a red back negative?
No
Most cards with red backs are danger cards. However, danger can also lurk on cards with other backs, and some cards with red backs may also have rewards.
Can I place damage from a single card on multiple humans?
No
You must place all damage from a single card on a single human. You cannot divide up the damage from a card among multiple humans.
Can I use prevent damage action to remove damage from humans?
No
Prevent damage action may only be used to prevent damage, which you're taking right now. You cannot use this to remove existing damage tokens from humans. However, you may use heal action to remove damage tokens from humans.
Can I heal multiple humans with a single action?
Yes
If you can heal more than 1 damage, you can divide the healing up among multiple humans.
Can I heal humans from other groups?
Only when helping
You can heal humans from other groups, but only if they are helping you, or you are helping them.
Do I have to discard anything to meet ability requirements
No
To meet a requirement, your group must possess certain abilities. If the total value of an ability meets the required threshold, it fulfills the requirement. You never discard or return cards to meet an ability requirement.
What do I do, if I roll dice and still cannot meet the ability requirements?
Pick another action
If, after rolling the dice, you cannot meet the requirements, you must resolve a different, possibly negative, action, or ignore the card if possible.
Can another player help me meet ability requirements after I roll dice?
No
When resolving an action with dice, players must decide to help each other before rolling the dice.
Can use a tool's effect, when discarding it to pay for an action?
No
You cannot use the tool’s effect at the same time as spending it for a cost.
Can other players help me meet demand requirements?
Yes
Other players can assist you with demand requirements by choosing the help action.
Can I look through the cards I discard to the facedown discard pile?
No
You must discard the top cards of your deck facedown, without looking at them.
Can I resolve an action, if I don't have enough cards to discard in my deck?
No
If an action requires you to discard an indicated number of cards and you do not have enough cards in your deck to cover the discards, you cannot resolve the action.
How much do I receive, if I discard multiple cards with red backs?
1 per red card
If you discard multiple red-backed cards during a single action, each deals 1 damage separately.
Can other players take damage instead of me?
Only when helping
Players helping you can take the damage instead of you.
Can other players help me when crafting?
Yes
Other players can help you, either to help you meet the requirements or to receive the tool from the action.
Are game components limited?
Yes
If there are not enough resources, cards, or tools left in the supply when gaining rewards, you cannot gain those rewards.
Can I use resources, which another player gained as a reward on the same turn?
Yes
Any player can use resources from the base camp board, even if these resources were gained by another player on the same turn.
Do I gain a skull, when resolving the remove a human action?
Yes
When resolving the remove a human card action, you must place a human in the graveyard and take a skull.
Can another player help me resolve a secret card?
Yes
If a player helped you draw the secret card, they can also help you with the secret.
