In Wroth, each player represents a unique culture with a distinctive approach to battle and a variety of fighters with remarkable capabilities.

Each faction is made up of basic troops, represented by common faction-specific markers, and two or more kinds of elite troops that are represented by dice.

These warring factions fight to control the regions of a radiant landscape rising from the ocean mist. Each region grants victory points to the faction that controls it at the end of each round, as well as a bonus if that faction is the only one present.

Factions draft dice to perform actions allowing for the deployment and maneuvering of troops in order to control these regions.

The game ends after a round when one faction either reaches 30 victory points or completes a scenario-based mission, depending on the game mode.
