For an easier or more challenging game, you can adjust the starting Levels of some of the Mage Cards in the Deck during setup.

After you Prepare the Deck, draw the first five Mage Cards. Then, choose one of the following:

• Casual: Upgrade four of the five Mage Cards to Level 3.

• Easy: Upgrade two of the five Mage Cards to Level 3.

• Normal: No changes to the game’s setup.

• Hard: Downgrade two of the five Mage Cards to Level 1.

• Impossible: Downgrade all five Mage Cards to Level 1.

• Don’t Even Try It: Draw seven Mage Cards instead of five and Downgrade them all to Level 1.

Then, shuffle these cards back into the Deck and proceed with setup as normal.
