If your Encounter is a Journey:
1. Calculate Move. If your Element’s Ether element matches that of your Spell’s Enhanced Action, resolve the Enhanced Move. Otherwise, resolve the Basic Move.
2. Add Boost. Add your Boost
to your Move
. If you are making an Enhanced Move and it has the same Ether element as the Journey’s MP
, also add the Boost
of your Reserve card.
3. Determine Outcome. Compare your Move
(which may have been modified by your Boost
) to the Journey’s MP
and consult the table below.

Outcome: Complete Victory: Collect the Journey’s XP
in the Upgrade Phase.

Outcome: Narrow Victory: Collect the Journey’s XP
in the Upgrade Phase, but also lose time equal to the Journey’s Time Penalty
in the Penalty Phase.
Move vs. MP: Move
is less than half of MP
(rounded up).
Outcome: Loss: Suffer the Journey’s Time Penalty
in the Penalty Phase.
