Track sections are divided up into "squares" and "lanes".
Squares make up the steps along the length of the whole track, and are separated by a thick, white line.
Each square is split along it's length into two lanes, by a thin white line.
A square can contain two riders, one in each lane. When a rider enters an empty square they must be placed into the right hand lane.
Riders can pass through fully occupied squares, but can't end their move in them.
