Two Trotksky tokens are included in the game, one green token marking his return from exile (placed on the May/June space of the calendar at the start of the game) and one red token (placed on the August calendar space at the start of the game) that represents Trotsky when he joins the Bolsheviks.

Each Trotsky token has two sides: The fresh side and the exhausted side. The token's current strength value is indicated by the larger number. The smaller number below the strength value indicates the strength value on the token’s other side.

The green neutral Trotsky token is under the player’s control if they have the will of the people and have a faction unit token or leader token in the region.

The red Trotsky token is under the Petrograd Soviet player's control when and if it comes into play.
