Faerie Tribes and Powers

menu

Ancients

Dismiss a Faerie from any Alliance, including your own. Discard it to the Dismiss pile.

Beguiler

Take a Faerie from an opponent’s Alliance and place it into your own Alliance.

Benefactrix

Take one of the Faeries in your Alliance and place it into the Alliance of one of your opponents.

Changeling

Exchange one of your Faeries with an opponent’s of the same Rank. (May be a different Tribe) This is a good way to trade out a Faerie of a Tribe that you have too many of – or to obtain one you might want more of.

Elsewither

Choose any player. Then, add the top card of the deck to their Alliance, without resolving its Power. Whether it is good or bad depends on what Tribes that player already has.

Firebrand

You may play this Faerie into any Alliance, yours or an opponent’s Alliance. It can be an excellent way to force negative points upon an opponent.

Insurgent

Choose a Rank. All players dismiss a Faerie of that Rank & place it in the Dismiss pile. If a player has more than one of a Rank, they may choose which to dismiss. This Tribe often leads to considerable destruction and tight, low scoring games.

Legion

At end of game, ignore normal scoring. Score Legion based on their total number. Scoring is based on a bell curve, with 3 Legion cards delivering the best score (7 points). You cannot claim Sovereignty with Legion.

Mercurial

At the end of game, if you have more than one Mercurial, they ALL become one of the other Tribes you control. Stack them with that Tribe, as a group, before scoring. They all count as copies of that Tribe. Mercurials will add to that Tribe’s number when calculating Sovereignty.

Noble

At end of game, ignore normal scoring. Score your highest ranking Noble, regardless of how many Nobles you have. Having more than one does not hurt your score, but you can’t claim Sovereignty with them either.

Pariah

At end of game, ignore normal scoring. Score Pariah as a negative number, equal to the highest Ranking Pariah. However, unlike other “ignore normal scoring” Tribes, if you have 5 or more Pariahs, you MAY claim Sovereignty.

Parvenu

Exchange a Faerie from your Alliance with an opponent’s of the same Tribe. (May be a different Rank) This is a good way to trade for a better ranking Faerie within a Tribe.

Wayfarer

All players pass their lowest Rank Faerie in the direction of the current round. If a player has more than one Faerie of the lowest Rank, they choose which one to pass. If they have no Faeries, they pass nothing to their neighbor, but are still passed one in the direction of play
