Trickery Phase (Simultaneous - all players)

The Scepter Holder deals 3 cards to every player, face-down.

When the Faerie deck runs out of cards, shuffle the Dismiss pile and place it as the new Faerie deck.

STACK & PASS

Secretly examine the 3 cards you are dealt – however, it is important to understand that these are NOT your cards. Rather, they are your opponent’s cards. After examining the cards, stack them in any order you choose. The topmost card of this face-down stack will be the first card your opponent will reveal – and they can only play one of the 3 cards, without seeing the rest. So, sequence the cards with this in mind.

When you are ready, place the stack of cards face-down in front of your neighbor, either to your left or right as determined by the current Direction of Play card. You will likewise be handed a stack from your other neighbor.

Important: Do not pick up or look at the cards passed to you... yet.

CHOOSE A FAERIE

Of the 3 cards passed to you, you will only choose one Faerie card per round. All others will go to the Dismiss pile. Players view faerie cards one at a time, together as a group. Remember, don’t pick up and look at all the cards!!!

“Oops. I looked at my cards.”

It happens. But as a penalty, you sacrifice the ability to choose your own card this turn. Shuffle your cards and have an opponent draw one at random for you. This will be your Kept card for the Sabotage phase.

1) The Scepter Holder announces, “First card.” Everyone draws and looks at the first card in their stack and decides to keep the card or dismiss it. Announce your decision aloud.

A dismissed card is placed face-down in the Dismiss pile. Keeping the card means that you intend to play the card. It remains hidden for now. If you keep the card, dismiss your remaining unrevealed cards without looking at them.

Did they put a better card below or something even worse? You will never know.

2) The Scepter Holder announces, “Second card.”

Players who discarded their first card, now look at the second card and, again, decide to keep it or discard it in the same manner. If you keep the card, dismiss your remaining unrevealed card without looking at it

3) Anyone that discarded their second card, MUST keep their third card
