Important: For each level, there are special rules that only apply for that level. There are also rules and components that are introduced in a level and apply from that level onwards, i.e. for all following levels.

From Level 2

Changes to set up: Take the 10 gifts and shuffle them face down. Place them face down in a pile.

Detours

You can now bypass some locks . The small spaces count towards the length of the path but characters cannot stop on them. If the character doesn’t have enough movement to complete the detour, they stop on the space before the detour. As soon as the lock is opened, you are no longer allowed to use the detour.

The gifts

If a character lands on a gift space, take 1 gift and flip it over. Then place it face up on one of the two spots on the character board.

Special case: If you receive a gift and both spots on the character board are already filled, you must choose one of the gifts to throw away (this can be the new gift).

The gifts give you different bonuses which you can use during the game. You may use a gift at any time, unless otherwise stated. Once you have used a gift, place it face up in a separate discard pile.

Special case: If there are no more gifts in the draw pile, shuffle the discard pile and create a new draw pile.
