Either discard one card from your hand, or play a Disaster card, or play a Turntable card to give yourself a new turn . Note that when you play a Disaster or Turntable card for its printed effect, it goes to the Disaster slot and not the discard pile. But in the unlikely event that you choose such a card for your regular discard, it has no effect and goes to the discard pile.
