When you cast a spell with a protective effect, you may place the spell card in front of you as a reminder. It is no longer part of your hand. Discard it when it expires.
If a spell has a duration of more than one turn, use a d6 to keep track of it on the spell card. The die starts on the face representing the beginning duration of the spell, and is turned down by one number at the end of your turn. When the die ends your turn at “1,” the spell has expired . . . remove the card and the die.
