When playing a card with the ‘X’ symbol, you may immediately play another card of the same suit from your hand. If you do, the value of your card is multiplied by the value of the second card. You may still only win the trick by playing cards of the trick suit.

Example: You play a card with a value of 2 that has an ‘X’ symbol on it and then play the 9 of the same suit. The value of your card is 2 x 9 = 18.

When playing a card with the ‘+’ symbol, you may immediately play another card of the same suit from your hand. If you do, the value of your card is increased by the value of the second card. You may still only win the trick by playing cards of the trick suit.

Example: You play a card with a value of 3 that has a ‘+’ symbol on it and then play the 9 of the same suit. The value of your card is 3 + 9 = 12.

Note: If the second card you play after a ‘X’ or ‘+’ symbol also has a ‘X’ or ‘+’ symbol, it is ignored. In other words, you may not play a third card in that trick.

Crown: If you play a card of the trick suit that also shows the crown symbol, you get to start the next trick, no matter who wins the trick. This effect occurs whether you play the card as your only card or you play the card as the second card after an ‘X’ or a ‘+’ symbol.
