Playing the game

menu

Beginning from the starting player, a player takes a turn to play one (or possibly several) tiles at the end of a row, according to the following rules:

1. You can only play tiles of one color to continue a row of that color (ie. no row can ever have tiles of different colors).

2. The number on each played tile must always be higher than on the one preceding it.

3. You may play two or more tiles of the same color if they form a run of consecutive numbers.

4. If you cannot play a tile legally (or you decide not to), you yell “pass!”

Then the turn passes in clockwise order to the next player

EXAMPLE:

A.

The player who had the red 1‑tile starts (in a 3‑ or 4‑player game). They can now play a tile at the end of any row. They decide to play a blue 8‑tile.

B.

The 2nd player plays a run of three tiles.

C.

The 3rd player wanted to play a run of green 5‑ and 6‑tiles, or at least a blue 2‑tile. Now they cannot, and since they don’t have any special tiles, they will have to wait for the right moment to play them. Instead, they play a run of two orange tiles.
